National Day of Prayer
May 7, 2009 - Montville, New Jersey
'Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority , that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.' (2Timothy 2:1-2)
As in previous years, Dave was asked by the local organizer to lead the National Day of Prayer service at the town hall. It had been
raining for several days, and rain was predicted for that day, but the clouds broke and the sun came out for the prayer time. About
30 people gathered at the flag pole for a brief time of patriotism and prayer that included reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "America, the Beautiful". Earnest intercession was made for our nation and its eaders, state and
local officials, educators, and the youth of America.
