David Virkler has enjoyed fishing since he was a boy growing up
near the Seneca River in upstate New York. Several years ago,
he expanded his fishing interests and began collecting old and
unusual lures as a hobby.
Dave soon realized that many of the lures also had value as
illustrations of Bible truths not surprising since he serves the
Lord as a "fisher of men"
As a result, Dave created It's Catching!. In this unique presentation,
he uses antique and unusual lures along with personal fishing
stories to bring spiritual lessons that present Christ and His desire
for believers to reach others as "fishers of men."
Dave has presented It's Catching! numerous times to enthusiastic response. Men, women and young people have been challenged to share their faith Unbelievers who wouldn't normally attend a "religious" or church function have heard the plan of salvation.
As far as we know, no one else is doing
this type of presentation.
It's Catching! offers an informal setting where the unsaved would feel at ease, even if the event is held at a church. It also has appeal to Christians who might not otherwise be interested in a presentation on soul-winning. The opportunity to fellowship with other sportsmen and "talk fishing" is an added drawing factor. Fishermen and non-fishermen alike will find the presentation to be entertaining and informative!
